The stakes are high when you’re planning a New Years Eve party at your community’s favorite brewery. From determining the theme all the way through execution the night to the event, there are several factors that play into making this a successful party.

I took inspiration for this event from Truman Capote‘s legendary Black and White Dance. Following approval of the theme, coordination with the brewers, kitchen staff, building facilities, and front-of-house staff was integral to the success of the event.

Brewery: In addition to several smaller specialty light and dark beer releases, we created an exclusive 750 ml Brett Wild Ale (made with grapefruit and peppercorn). We named the brew Fickle 2016 due to the unpredictable year

Kitchen: Black & White themed dinner specials all night including blackberry chicken and waffles.

 

Event Promotion

Take in some live music with pianist William Marshall Bennett while devouring one of our Black & White dinner specials.

Specialty light and dark beer releases all night, an exclusive 750 ml Brett Wild Ale (with grapefruit and peppercorn), and a 750 ml bottle sale on all barrel-aged brews

We’ll have a wandering photographer throughout the evening and a photo booth set up in the beer garden patio.

The mask competition will be fierce with two ultimate awards on offer – one for the most beautiful mask on the black & white theme and one for the most beautiful overall mask. Judging will take place on the dance floor beginning at 10 pm. Winners will be announced by 10:30.

Halcyon Sound will be spinning tunes starting at 9 pm while our favorite black and white movies play on the big screen and we dance away the minutes to 2017!
